"The Foreigner" to Take the Stage at Sylvania

The Theater Arts department at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ announced recently that its winter term production this March will be "The Foreigner," a wacky comedy that takes place in a fishing lodge resort in Georgia. Performance dates are March 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13, 8 p.m., at the Performing Arts Center on the Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave.
Bill Dobson is the guest director for the play. Dobson, a well-known Portland area stage director, also coordinates admissions for Ä¢¹½´«Ã½. Dan Hays, theater operations coordinator for the college, will serve as the designer and technical director. The cast is made up entirely of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ theater arts students.
"The Foreigner" examines what can happen when a group of devious characters meet up with a stranger who they believe does not understand English.
Tickets, which go on sale March 1, are $5 for students and seniors, and $6 for general admission. They are sold at the Sylvania Campus Bookstore. Reservations can also be made by calling the Performing Arts Center box office at 977-4949, or tickets can be purchased at the door the evening of the performance.
