Discussion at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ spotlights environment issues

PORTLAND, Ore. – Join Ä¢¹½´«Ã½, in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Oregon, to learn more about the environment, democracy and how you can become involved.

Inspired by Wangari Maathai’s upcoming World Affairs Council lecture, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ will hold a panel discussion titled, “The Environment and Democracy.” It features local experts discussing environmental policy, political agenda, human rights and how they relate to Portland. The discussion is at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 in the CentralPortlandWorkforceTrainingCenter, 1626 S.E. Water Ave. Cost is $19.

Panelists include Portland City Commissioner Dan Saltzman; representatives from the Office of Sustainable Development; Stacey Triplett of Portland Metro Greenspaces; Moses Wambalaba, program associate with NW Regional Educational Lab Equity Center; and other local experts.
