Ģý formalizes transfer agreement with PNCA

Students from the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon will now have easier access to a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the .
Ģý students who transfer to PNCA with 60 semester credits/90 quarter credits automatically receive a minimum annual scholarship of $22,000. Opportunities for a larger scholarship based on portfolio strength, merit and need will also be available, as well as financial aid.
In order to receive the transfer scholarship, Ģý students must take the courses outlined in the transfer agreement pathway, which allows them to earn a BFA degree in just two years.
“PNCA has been welcoming talented Ģý transfer students for many years, so I’m thrilled to have an official pathway that guarantees that courses will transfer for qualified students and a scholarship,” said . “Empowering students to reimagine what art and design can do in the world is part of our mission. We look forward to continuing a partnership that will inevitably support the thriving art and design community in Portland and beyond.”
The new partnership complements the existing programs at Ģý, which serves more than 50,000 full- and part-time students in Multnomah, Washington, Yamhill, Clackamas and Columbia counties. Ģý offers more than 90 programs, including graphic design, multimedia and art.
Ģý’s Art Program is excited to partner with PNCA to establish a new transfer pathway for our students, said Dean of Art and Design Gene Flores.
“Our art faculty are a committed group of educators, working artists and art historians, active in personal, professional, and community development. They bring a diverse set of skills and art practices to the program, resulting in a high-quality, foundations-level art education for students who start their journey at Ģý,” he said. “Our partnership with PNCA will help our students continue their educational and creative journey with an institution that is well respected and admired by Ģý faculty and students alike.”
