Attention: safety alert

This Safety Alert is notification of an Assault Involving Unwanted Sexual Contact that occurred at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Rock Creek on Saturday, 5/23 at approximately 11PM. It is believed to present a potential ongoing safety concern to the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ community.

  • REPORTED OFFENSE: Assault Involving Unwanted Sexual Contact
  • WHEN: Saturday, 5/23 at approximately 11PM
  • SUSPECT: Group of youths riding E-Bikes
  • DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT: A female victim reported a male suspect riding with a number of individuals on e-bikes grabbed her on the buttocks without consent and attempted to rip her shirt during the encounter. A group of juveniles riding e-bikes similar to the offending group has reportedly been observed on campus on multiple prior occasions. The incident is being investigated as a reported sexual harassment involving unwanted sexual contact.
  • OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION:
    • Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Public Safety is actively coordinating with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office regarding this matter.
    • All relevant information has been shared with the Sheriff’s Office, and plans are being finalized to increase patrols in the affected areas.
    • An update to this situation will be provided to the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ community when information becomes available.

Safety tips and resources

  • If you have been assaulted or see an assault in progress, try to stay calm and go to a safe location. Call 911 and if safe to do so, Public Safety emergency at 971 722 4444 for help. Do not attempt to apprehend any suspects or perpetrators of crime. Your personal safety and the safety of others around you should be your first concern.

  • Parked at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½? Call 971 722 4902 to ask for an escort to your vehicle while on Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ property, especially encouraged after dark.
  • Be a good witness: If you can and it’s safe to, observe as many details as possible to help investigations. Notice your perception of the assailant’s gender, race, age, height, hair color, clothing, tattoos or scars. If a vehicle is involved take note of the color, make and model and its license plate if possible.
